For the first time in my life, I’m attempting to lose weight.
Up until this point, I’ve exercised enough to eat whatever I want and not worry about it… but that isn’t exactly working anymore.
My weight-loss strategy consists of 90% exercise and 10% not eating all the cookies. This equates to weight loss of about 1/2 pound per week, which is agonizingly slow but hey, I’ll take it.
I’m about five weeks in, and today I had a MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH! So far at work today, I have walked past the cookie tray. And the tin of holiday Chex mix. And every time I get up from my desk to dig into the bowl of peanut m&ms, I’ve instead grabbed a carrot from the veggie tray. PEOPLE, THIS IS HUGE.
I apologize to anyone coming over to sample from the veggie tray because at this point – it’s mostly just celery. Because I’M EATING ALL THE CARROTS.
Stay strong this holiday season, friends. May you too have breakthrough days like this one on your path to navigate the never-ending sea of snacks.
But you can’t eat all the carrots. Those are in my belly.
